BubbleUp/Trickle Down

Trickle Down:
When fashion originates from the designer/catwalk  to the street
E.g.
The little black dress, designed by Coco Chanel,

the split dress, started out a a small split hem then grew to a rip starting at the hip bone,

mini skirts for women 2012body con dress, designed by Hervey ledger, then the design trickled down to the rest of the world.

Bubble Up:
when fashion starts on the streets and is then shown on the catwalk or replicated by a designer.
E.g. mini skirts people started rolling their skirts to make then shorter which was then replicated by the designer by making them shorter,

high waised skirts, people started wearing their skirts on the waist to make the leg line longer,

ripped jeans
